Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi representing the federation has affirmed its unwavering support for any decision made by the Chief Minister of Balochistan in the wake of the deadly attack that left around 40 people martyred.
Mohsin Naqvi said the chief minister was deeply committed to the province, and expressed his solidarity with the people of Balochistan, vowing that such acts of violence cannot and will not be tolerated.
"The events that happened yesterday were tragic, but together we will resolve these incidents," stated Mohsin Naqvi.
He was addressing a press conference in Quetta after charging a high-level meeting on Wednesday after deadly attacks.
He further assured that the perpetrators behind this attack will face swift justice, with a strong message soon to be delivered to those who threaten peace in the region.
While the attack was carried out covertly by terrorists, the provincial government, now fully alert, is determined to ensure the safety and security of its citizens.
He said the response to the attack did not require a large-scale operation. Instead, a local Station House Officer (SHO) successfully neutralized the terrorists, demonstrating the capabilities of the local armed forces and police.
“The armed forces and police know how to fight terrorists," said the interior minister, dismissing the need for deploying the army in Balochistan. He emphasized that both planners and perpetrators will be pursued relentlessly.
