Renowned communications platform WhatsApp is preparing to enhance user interaction with its Meta AI through a new voice chat mode feature.
According to reports from WABetaInfo, this forthcoming update promises a more personalized and efficient communication experience.
The feature, currently in development and available in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.18.18, will enable users to engage in real-time voice conversations with the Meta AI.
This upgrade is expected to significantly streamline interactions, allowing users to choose from a range of voice options that align with their preferences.
Once activated, the voice chat mode will facilitate hands-free communication, eliminating the need for typing. This will not only make interactions more natural but also provide users with a faster method of communication through voice commands.
Screenshots from the beta version reveal that users will have access to a shortcut for the voice chat mode via a floating action button located within the chats list.
WABetaInfo notes that the introduction of this feature will improve the flow of communication between users and the AI, particularly in scenarios where typing is impractical.
Additionally, users will have the option to opt out of the voice chat mode, ensuring control over their privacy with a visual indicator on Android OS to show when the Meta AI is not actively listening.
