Following a decrease in petroleum prices, the district administration of Multan has announced a 2 percent reduction in commercial fares for both passenger transport and goods transport companies.
Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Secretary Mohsin Nisar said: "After consultations with transporters and under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner of Multan, we have reduced fares by 2%. This reduction applies to both passenger services and goods transport agencies."
The district administration's initiative has resulted in more affordable travel options for citizens.
A passenger said: "I regularly travel to Vahari. Previously, the fare was four hundred rupees, but now it's been reduced by Rs50 . However, the reduction in AC vehicle fares hasn't been sufficient."
Citizens have appealed to the government to reduce petroleum prices further to provide additional relief.
