As part of its ongoing mission to reduce government expenditure, the federal government has decided to abolish the Ministry of Capital Administration and Development Division (CAD), which oversees Islamabad's affairs.
The decision includes the elimination of posts from grades 1 to 16 across all ministries.
The Federal Cabinet has directed the Cabinet Division to oversee the dissolution of CAD, while the Establishment Division and Finance Division will handle matters related to the ministry's closure.
Additionally, the government has announced plans to outsource roles such as finance, sweepers, and plumbers in all ministries.
There will also be a reduction in the number of lower-grade posts, with all temporary positions being eliminated.
The move is part of the federal government’s right-sizing initiative, aimed at privatizing various institutions shutting down unnecessary departments, and saving billions of rupees in the process.
