The Lahore High Court has officially declared a holiday in all courts on 12 Rabi Awal, following a notification issued by the Registrar after the approval of Chief Justice Alia Neelum.
By the announcement, all civil and session courts across the province, including the Lahore High Court, will remain closed on September 17, 2024.
This holiday is in observance of Eid-i-Miladun Nabi, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
The decision follows the recent announcement by the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee on September 4, 2024, which stated that the Rabiul Awwal moon was not sighted.
Consequently, the Islamic month of Rabiul Awwal will begin on September 6, and Eid-i-Miladun Nabi will be observed on September 17.
The 12th of Rabiul Awwal, also known as Mawlid al-Nabawi, is a significant occasion for Muslims worldwide. It commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and is celebrated with various religious activities and festivities.
