In an unexpected development, Israel's most prominent news outlet has raised objections to the recent arrests of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders for alleged legal violations.
This comes just a week after The Times of Israel, a well-known Israeli newspaper, suggested that Imran Khan, former Prime Minister of Pakistan, is the most suitable Pakistani politician to formally recognise Israel.
The newspaper cited the former prime minister’s connections with the Jewish community, particularly the Goldsmith family, as a significant factor in its assessment.
This marks a notable shift, as for the first time, leading Israeli newspapers—known for aligning closely with the Israeli government's perspective—are openly advocating for Imran Khan at a time when he faces serious corruption charges that could result in imprisonment.
This support follows the publication of over 134 articles in Western media, with the Israeli press now appearing to back the PTI founder in what some view as a final effort to protect him from legal consequences.
The sudden alignment of Israeli media with Imran Khan's cause has fueled speculation about a broader agenda.
Observers suggest that the involvement of the Goldsmith family, who have longstanding ties to Khan, may be influencing this media support, raising concerns about foreign influence in Pakistan's internal affairs.
