Five people lost their lives in a fire that broke out in a dilapidated mud house in Mardan. The victims were devotees who had been residing in the house near a local shrine.
According to rescue officials, emergency teams were alerted to a fire in a house on Bagh Gibran Hill, located along Mardan's Buner Road, and they quickly dispatched firefighter and medical units to the scene.
Due to the location of the house on the hilltop, rescue teams faced difficulties in dousing the fire, however, the victims were retrieved from the house through the fire and brought down from the hill, but none survived.
The affected house was the abode of devotees of a local shrine on the hill, and all the five victims who died in the incident were devotees.
The cause of the fire remains unclear, and authorities are investigating the incident.
