Under the Railway Rationalization Plan, 1,967 posts in the Railway Commercial Department have been officially abolished, according to a notification issued on Monday.
These positions, spread across major divisions, including Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Sukkur, Quetta, and Karachi, will be considered closed upon the retirement of the current employees occupying them.
The decision is part of a broader effort to streamline operations within Pakistan Railways, ensuring greater efficiency and resource management.
Instructions Issued to Divisions Following the notification, all relevant railway divisions have been instructed to make the necessary arrangements to implement the decision and adjust their workforce accordingly.
