The Lahore district administration remains undecided on whether to grant permission for a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally scheduled for September 21 in the city.
Despite receiving three separate applications from PTI, including one from opposition leader Ahmed Khan Bhachar, no decision has been reached yet.
Ahmed Khan Bhachar submitted the third application to the Lahore district administration on September 16, requesting the rally date be moved from September 22 to September 21.
This request follows two earlier petitions, one of which was submitted by PTI leader Umar Ayub. Bhachar has also requested the district administration to consolidate all the petitions for a unified decision.
The delay in the decision can be attributed to the time taken to obtain police clearance, a necessary step for any public gathering. Two days have passed since the Deputy Commissioner (DC) sought permission from the police, but no response has been received so far.
