Advocate Zafar Khokhar, former president of the Islamabad District Courts, has publicly endorsed the establishment of constitutional courts in Pakistan. Khokhar emphasized that such institutions should be created in accordance with current circumstances.
The veteran lawyer pointed out that over the past decade, governments led by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have not given serious consideration to this matter.
Highlighting the urgent need for judicial reform, Khokhar noted that more than 60,000 cases are currently pending in the Supreme Court. He expressed concern that citizens face difficulties in obtaining basic justice, securing their rights, and resolving property disputes.
Khokhar strongly supports the formation of constitutional courts as a potential solution to address these issues and improve the overall judicial system in Pakistan.
