Several parts of the country, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad, experienced heavy rain today, providing much-needed relief from the recent heatwave. The downpour helped cool temperatures in the Potohar region and beyond, with more rain expected throughout the day.
According to the Met Department, rain is likely in central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Potohar, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. There is also a possibility of hailstorms in isolated areas, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, and Kashmir.
The forecast for today includes rain in Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Lahore, Gujrat, Jhang, Khushab, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Kasur, Okara, Khanewal, Multan, Bhakkar, Layyah, and Dera Ghazi Khan. Heavy rainfall is anticipated in many districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Waziristan, and Dera Ismail Khan also expecting rain.

While most districts of Sindh will remain hot, there is a chance of evening showers in Tharparkar and nearby areas. Meanwhile, Balochistan will continue to experience hot and dry conditions, though Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to see rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms later in the day.
The rain is expected to provide temporary relief from the high temperatures, but authorities have advised residents in affected areas to exercise caution, especially in regions prone to flooding. The Met Office has warned of potential disruptions due to heavy rainfall and urged people to stay informed about the latest weather updates.
