Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal announced a massive investment of $27 billion from friendly nations, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, and Azerbaijan.
Expressing his thoughts, Iqbal said: "This is a significant achievement under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and a major success for Pakistan. Discussions on feasibility and other matters are ongoing with these countries. A large delegation of Saudi investors is also set to visit Pakistan.”
He further shared that the Chinese premier is scheduled to visit Pakistan after 11 years. "We have also agreed on the roadmap for the ML-1 project with China, and the financing agreement will be signed soon," he added.
Iqbal stressed the importance of stable trade relations, particularly with neighboring India, stating, “A conducive environment is essential for trade with India.” He also discussed the IMF's new three-year program, calling it “a new insurance policy for Pakistan,” emphasizing the need for reforms to avoid future crises.
On the political front, Iqbal noted, “Our stance on military neutrality in politics has prevailed. This was evident when the establishment distanced itself from the founder of PTI, marking a victory for political non-interference.”
"The country can no longer bear any anarchy and protests," he stated.
– Imran Khan is seeking NRO for himself, says Ahsan Iqbal –
Separately, few days back, Iqbal said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder was looking to seek NRO for himself.
Expressing her thoughts, Iqbal schooled the PTI founder, saying, “The PTI founder is the one who pleadd the Congress by visiting the United States. Other times, he [the PTI founder] gives his opinions at the different forums in Pakistan.”
“The PTI founder somehow wants NRO for his leadership. He [the PTI founder] showed no mercy in asking for the receipts from others. But now, when the turn of getting the receipts came, the PTI founder is causing uproar,” Iqbal said.
