Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his Chinese counterpart Li Qiang held high-level delegation talks in Islamabad, expressing satisfaction over the progress of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and reaffirming their commitment to the development and expansion of strategic projects.
Army chief General Asim Munir especially participated in the talks.
The talks, held during the Chinese premier's visit for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, focused on key areas of collaboration, including increased investment in Pakistan, industrial growth, agriculture, and the information technology sector.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of timely completion of ongoing projects, particularly those in phase two of CPEC. Both sides expressed satisfaction over the second phase and commitment to its development. They also emphasised on increasing investment, as well as timely completion of industrial, agricultural and IT projects.

Prime Minister Sharif assured the Chinese delegation of Pakistan's commitment to safeguard Chinese residents and projects in the country. According to the declaration issued at the conclusion, both sides agreed to continue high-level contacts and close consultations on multilateral forums.
The two leaders also discussed the relocation of Chinese industries to Pakistan, an important move that could boost Pakistan’s industrial capabilities and create new opportunities for economic growth.

According to a joint statement, both sides agreed to maintain close high-level contacts and consultations on global and regional issues, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in multilateral forums. The PMs expressed satisfaction over the strong strategic partnership, based on mutual trust and shared principles, reiterating their support on all core issues of interest to both nations.
The discussions concluded with a shared commitment to accelerate the pace of development and expand the scope of Chinese investments in Pakistan, ensuring that the projects under CPEC and other cooperative efforts continue to thrive.
