Former foreign minister and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday said that his party is ready for elections and emphasized the importance of democratic principles, highlighting that democratic politicians view elections as the solution to various challenges.
Addressing a press conference, he expressed confidence that the people of Pakistan would soon have the opportunity to exercise their right to vote and elect their representatives. He underscored the pivotal role that elections play in the democratic process, signaling the party's commitment to upholding democratic values.
Bilawal said that his party has built 2.1 million houses in the province and will solarize them after the elections. He also said that his party has a plan to make women independent and will implement it throughout the country.
The PPP chairman went on to say that he wants to give such programs to the flood victims of Punjab and that he is ready to do what he can for the Palestinian people. He also said that the people of Pakistan are with Palestine.
The former foreign minister further said that he is a democratic politician and the solution to every problem is election. He said that people will get an opportunity to exercise their right to vote soon.
“I do not think politicians like Fazlur Rahman will make any statement against the election and that democratic workers are always ready for elections,” he added.
Mr Bhutto said, “I am happy that Nawaz Sharif is coming back and that it is important that everyone should play their role for the development of Pakistan, adding that if elections are not held, we will all be responsible and that those who want to run away from the election will know that they have lost.”
“It is the responsibility of Election Commission to announce the date of elections and that if the election date is given, the confusion among the people will end.”
