Amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, Emirates Airline has temporarily cancelled flights to Iraq, Israel, and Jordan, and is re-routing certain flights to other countries.
The decision follows heightened regional instability after recent attacks in Israel, which prompted Iran to close its airspace to commercial traffic.
The closure of Iran’s airspace is causing significant re-routing challenges for flights in the region, particularly those travelling between Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Meanwhile, according to sources from Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), flights previously passing through Iranian airspace are now diverting through Muscat’s air corridor instead.
Air Traffic Control has implemented strict measures to monitor flights entering its airspace from the western border. CAA sources confirmed that each flight undergoes thorough screening before being allowed to enter, and any aircraft deemed suspicious is barred from entering Pakistani airspace to ensure security.
