Apple is rolling out its latest iOS 18.2 update, marking the return of the volume slider on the iPhone lock screen, a feature that was removed after the iOS 16 release in 2022.
Previously, the volume control only appeared when users engaged in AirPlay. With the new update, iPhone users can conveniently adjust their volume settings directly from the lock screen.
To enable this functionality, users can navigate to Settings > Accessibility > Audio and Visual and toggle on the "Always Show Volume Control" option.
Once activated, the volume slider will be visible on the lock screen whenever headphones or Bluetooth devices are connected, as well as when using the iPhone's built-in speaker.
In addition to this feature, iOS 18.2 introduces exciting Apple Intelligence capabilities, including Genmoji, Image Playground, and ChatGPT integration into Siri and various writing tools across apps.
Another noteworthy enhancement is the Visual Intelligence feature, akin to Google Lens, which provides additional information when users point their cameras at objects. This feature allows for reading text in images and using location data for enhanced context.
To access Visual Intelligence, users simply hold the new Camera Control button on the lock screen and capture a photo to gain insights about it. With these updates, Apple continues to enhance the iPhone experience, making it more intuitive and user-friendly.
