The government has decided not to entertain any demands or provide concessions to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) amid ongoing violent protests.
According to details, the demonstrations, which had claimed the lives of three Rangers and two police officers while injuring several others, have caused significant economic and social turmoil. Over two days, the unrest has resulted in billions of rupees in damages to public and private property.
Sources said that the PTI’s leadership, in a bid to retain control of the party, has pushed the remnants of its political force toward destructive actions. The central leadership has allegedly abandoned its followers on the ground, leaving Islamabad to deal with the chaos while remaining in hiding.
The reports revealed that the protests involve participants allegedly funded by provincial taxpayer money, including undocumented Afghan individuals and others in civilian clothing.
The group’s stated objectives—ranging from the release of the party's founder to reversing constitutional amendments and reinstating earlier election dates—are viewed as unrealistic and legally untenable.
Meanwhile, the demonstrations had placed the lives of residents in Islamabad and Rawalpindi in jeopardy.
Despite initial advances by the protesters, law enforcement regained control of D-Chowk within two hours, pushing back the disruptive crowd. However, public concern grows as the protests continue to paralyze daily life.
Given the severe political and economic damage inflicted by PTI’s activities, the government has resolved to deny any form of relief to the party.
The officials stressed that the current demonstrations lack a clear direction, purpose, or ideology, and are instead aimed at creating disorder in the federal capital.
The state has called upon PTI's leadership to take responsibility for their actions, urging them to exhibit political maturity and apologize to the nation for their decisions.
Authorities have emphasized that no concessions will be made, and those involved in orchestrating or perpetuating this unrest will face accountability for their actions.
