Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday expressed gratitude for the failure of the "conspiracy of mischief" behind the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest.
In a statement following the operation to disperse protesters, Naqvi lauded the role of the law enforcement agencies in upholding peace and order.
Speaking at a visit to D-Chowk and Khyber Plaza, Mohsin Naqvi commended the Rangers, Pakistan Army, FC, and the police forces from Islamabad, Punjab, and Sindh for their courageous efforts in repelling the demonstrators.

The minister also stressed the bravery of the Rangers officers and personnel who took the lead in restoring calm to the area.
Mr Naqvi also met with law enforcement officers stationed at D-Chowk, personally acknowledging their valour in clearing the streets of miscreants.
He further extended his appreciation to the Pakistan Army, FC, and police forces for their tireless efforts in ensuring the safety and security of the capital city.

During the operation, which took place late into the night, PTI announced the cancellation of its Islamabad protest.
According to a PTI spokesperson, the party’s next course of action would be determined after consultations with party leaders, including a core committee meeting.
The spokesperson also condemned the violent crackdown on peaceful protesters, claiming that hundreds of innocent Pakistanis were injured as they were "rained with bullets" on the streets of Islamabad.
Meanwhile, Naqvi reviewed the areas that had been cleared of protesters and instructed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to begin cleaning the affected areas and remove any remaining obstacles from the roads.
Furthermore, the minister assessed the extent of damage caused to buildings and facilities due to the attacks by miscreants, ensuring that steps would be taken to address the aftermath of the protests.
