Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) Chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza clarified on Thursday his stance regarding the Islamabad protests, saying, "I was not part of the decision to proceed to D-Chowk."
Speaking on the Samaa TV programme, "Nadeem Malik Live", Raza talked about the reasons behind his resignation, saying, "It was being said that people did not come out from Punjab and that is why I decided to step down."
Raza said, "I had certain reservations. The differences of opinion on strategy are natural. I have been the PTI ally before and will continue to support the party in the future as well. However, I was not involved in the D-Chowk decision."
Expressing his thoughts about the resignation of Salman Akram Raja, Raza said, "He resigned because of criticism. He should not have stepped down."
He commented on the ongoing PTI political committee meeting, saying, "Bushra Bibi is not participating in the meeting."
Meanwhile, Raza dismissed reports regarding new appointments in PTI. "The proposal to make Asad Qaiser, the chairman and Ali Muhammad Khan, the secretary general is not under consideration," he clarified.
He added, "We spoke with Ali Zafar, and he denied such claims. No one has met the PTI founder today."
