The Election Commission of Pakistan has issued the election code of conduct. Local and foreign media and commentators will not express bias and preferences for any political party or candidate.
While publishing preliminary results, it will be mentioned that these are unofficial and incomplete results, and they will not be considered final until declared by the returning officer.
According to the code of conduct, the national media will take full care of Pakistan's ideology and sovereignty during the election campaign. The media will not air biased opinions against the independence and integrity of the security, judiciary and other national institutions.
If one candidate accuses the other, both sides will have to be confirmed. The PEMRA, PTA, PID, and Digital Wing of the Ministry of Information will monitor the coverage given to the political parties and candidates.
The election media campaign will be terminated 48 hours before the election day. The international media and observers have been asked to submit their visa applications on time, as they will not be able to stay in Pakistan beyond the visa period.
Respect for Pakistan's sovereignty, freedom of individuals and fundamental rights will also be mandatory. The observers shall ensure that their observations and reporting are impartial, objective and accurate. The international media persons and observers shall not wear the insignia or colours of any political party.
According to the code of conduct, national observers will also respect national sovereignty and fundamental rights of individuals. The culture and traditions of the country will be respected. Any violation may result in the cancellation of their accreditation.
