Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan on Tuesday revealed that her brother has consistently received offers for a backdoor deal, with one such offer involving house arrest at Bani Gala.

Speaking to the media after visiting Imran Khan in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, Aleema Khan stated that Ali Amin Gandapur had brought the offer of house arrest for her brother but emphasized that no one had directly approached Imran Khan regarding these proposals.

"Since day one, Imran Khan has been offered deals, but no one has come to him directly. Ali Amin Gandapur had brought the offer of house arrest at Bani Gala," Aleema Khan said, adding that her brother was also advised to remain silent and refrain from speaking out.

Imran Khan -  who has now been incarcerated for over a year and a half -  has consistently rejected such offers, according to his sister.

Aleema Khan questioned the logic behind placing him under house arrest after such an extended period in jail. “If there was to be a backdoor deal, it would have happened already,” she remarked.

Aleema Khan further elaborated that her brother had made his two demands clear, but she expressed doubts about the sincerity of those negotiating on behalf of the government.

“Imran Khan has been saying for two years that a judicial commission should be formed to investigate the events of May 9. If the government is serious about negotiations, they should not hesitate,” she said.

Imran Khan has called for the establishment of a judicial commission, which would be headed by a senior judge from the Supreme Court, to review the events of May 9. Aleema Khan added that the negotiation committee, which is supposed to discuss these matters with Imran Khan, has not been allowed to meet him inside the jail. "The doors for meetings open at 7 am, yet the negotiation committee has not been permitted to engage with him," she stated.

Aleema Khan also criticized the members of the government’s negotiation committee, accusing them of “stealing” PTI’s mandate. She emphasized that if the government demonstrates seriousness, the other demands could also be discussed.

Meanwhile, the deadlock in negotiations between the government and PTI continues. Despite two rounds of talks, there has been no indication of a third meeting, with no date set for further discussions.
