A polio eradication campaign will commence across various cities in Punjab on February 3.
The campaign will continue until February 9 in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad, while in other districts, it will conclude on February 7.
During the campaign, the target is to administer polio vaccine drops to 23.3 million children across the province.
Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman chaired a meeting to review the arrangements. Considering ongoing examinations, it was decided to minimize the involvement of education department staff in the campaign.
Chief Secretary emphasized that the poliovirus in environmental samples indicates a continued threat. He directed deputy commissioners to personally oversee the campaign.
He further stressed the importance of utilizing technology to achieve the desired results in polio eradication efforts, stating that digitization can help improve micro-planning.
