The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has announced significant changes in its Departmental Promotion Committee and Administrative committees, alongside an updated seniority list of judges following recent appointments.
According to a notification issued by the additional registrar with the approval of Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, the new Departmental Promotion Committee will now include Justice Sarfaraz Dogar, who has also been designated as the senior puisne judge, and Justice Azam Khan.
Simultaneously, the Administrative Committee of the Islamabad High Court has also undergone changes. Chief Justice Aamer Farooq will serve as the chairman of the committee, with Justice Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro appointed as its members. The additional registrar's notification underscored that these changes were made with the full approval of the chief justice to enhance administrative efficiency.
Judges seniority
In addition to these committee changes, the seniority list of IHC judges has been revised. Justice Sarfaraz Dogar now holds the position of senior puisne judge at the top of the list. Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani has moved to second place, followed by Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb in third and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri in fourth.
