The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has commenced oil and gas production operations in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, marking a significant development in Pakistan's energy sector with support from the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
The newly discovered well is projected to contribute 8.5 million cubic feet of gas and 610 barrels of oil daily to the national energy grid. This production will be integrated into the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) network, strengthening the country's energy supply infrastructure.
OGDCL continues to lead Pakistan's energy exploration sector, focusing on drilling, production, and engineering activities. The company's latest venture aligns with SIFC's strategic priority of achieving economic stability through increased reliance on domestic resources, particularly in the energy sector.
This development represents a step toward sustainable energy production in Pakistan, with OGDCL working in collaboration with SIFC to enhance the country's energy security through domestic resource utilization.
