Two key members of a group involved in smuggling Iranian weed were arrested in Lahore’s Defence area.
According to details, the authorities revealed that the arrested individuals, identified as Ashraf and Tanveer, had been part of a network that brought large quantities of weed into Pakistan from Iran.
The police officials said that the weed, which was valued at millions of rupees, had been imported for distribution in educational institutions.
Moreover, the police stated that the suspects had brought 12 kilograms of weed via courier services, with plans to sell it in Lahore's Defence area and other upscale neighbourhoods.
"The individuals were involved in smuggling Iranian weed for a network that planned to distribute it to schools and colleges," said an official statement from the police.
Efforts to arrest other members of the smuggling group were underway, with the police intensifying their search for those responsible for the illicit operation.
