Three excise officials were killed in a tragic firing incident on the GT Road in the Taro Pabbi area of Nowshera early Sunday morning.
The attack, which took place at approximately 2:00 AM, saw unknown assailants open fire on the vehicle of an excise mobile squad.
According to police reports, two excise officials died at the scene, while another succumbed to injuries later. The suspects fled the scene immediately after the attack, and authorities have launched a full-scale investigation to track down the perpetrators.
The police have registered a case against unidentified individuals, and efforts are ongoing to collect evidence and witness statements to aid in the investigation.
The funeral prayers for the fallen officials were held at Police Line Peshawar. A police contingent saluted the deceased, and floral tributes were laid in honor of their sacrifice.
The funeral was attended by senior police and excise officers, along with colleagues who gathered to pay their respects.
