Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said on Thursday that his party stands with the Pakistan Army and the nation over the Indus Waters Treaty.
Expressing his thoughts, Khan said: “India will not succeed in its nefarious ambitions. The Indus Water Treaty cannot be suspended on legal grounds.”
“Pakistan will give a befitting response to India for its actions,” Khan said.
On the other side, National Assembly Opposition Leader Omar Ayub said: “Every moment that passes after India suspended the Indus Water Treaty is a ticking time bomb for Pakistan. It is, for all intents and purposes, India’s declaration of war on Pakistan.”
“The government, until now, has made cowardly, weak, and pleading statements in this regard,” said Ayub.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Ayub said: “The most popular leader, Imran Khan, is locked up in jail as a political prisoner, and the PTI is being persecuted.”
