Lahore Zoo will be temporarily closed for three months starting November 7 due to an upgrade project.
Lahore Zoo will remain shut till January 31.
The project is expected to cost around Rs5 billion and will include the introduction of new animals, such as pandas, and the use of virtual reality to allow visitors to see rare species.
During the closure, the animals from Lahore Zoo will be shifted to Jallo Forest Safari Park and Changa Manga.
The zoo administration has already formed a committee to submit recommendations on which animals will be shifted where.
Once the recommendations are approved, the work of transferring the animals will begin.
The lifting project at Lahore Zoo is aimed at improving the facilities for both animals and visitors.
The zoo is currently home to over 1,300 animals, including many endangered species.
The project is expected to attract more visitors to the zoo and help to raise awareness about animal conservation.
