During smog-related case hearing at the Lahore High Court, Justice Shahid Kareem has suggested the shutdown of all educational institutions on Saturdays.
The proceedings involved the consideration of pleas from various parties, including citizen Haroon Farooq, during the smog-related case hearing in the Lahore High Court.
Addressing the court, Justice Shahid Kareem underscored that smog is no longer confined to Lahore alone, but has become a pervasive issue across the entire province of Punjab.
He proposed the closure of all schools and colleges on Saturdays, with a stipulation for government and private institutions to facilitate a two-day Work From Home protocol.
Justice Shahid Kareem said that it is important to shut down educational institutions each week. He said that the policy, which was adopted two years ago, must now be followed carefully.
The court subsequently adjourned the case hearing, resuming proceedings on November 17.
