Former prime minister Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi has expressed no-confidence in Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamir Farooq.
She has requested to fix her petition for a meeting with her husband in private before another bench.
Bushra Bibi’s lawyer argued that the chief justice was pronouncing the same kind of decision on all their pleas. He requested that all their cases be transferred from this bench to another.
CJ Farooq said the lawyer was talking inappropriately and told him not to do this, but added that the court would see to it.
On Bushra Bibi’s plea, the court issued notices to the bar councils for assistance.
The chief justice said the court was issuing notices to the Supreme Court and Islamabad High Court bar associations, as well as the Pakistan Bar Councils.
On the other hand, Bushra Bibi excused herself from appearing before the National Accountability Bureau’s Rawalpindi office. She submitted her response through her lawyer, and said she could not appear due to personal reasons.
She then sought a date next week for appearing before the bureau.
The former first wife had been summoned by NAB for investigation in the 190-million-pound Al-Qadir Trust case. Her friend Farah Gogi had also been summoned again today.
