From his well-known relationship with Marla Maples to rumours about Stormy Daniels, former US President Donald Trump's romantic history has always been like a fascinating story.
The former president's loyalty to his wives has been in question, and an interesting detail came from an old FBI file released in 2019.
According to legal documents, when Donald Trump and Marla Maples briefly separated, there was a love triangle involving Trump, Maples, and the singer Michael Bolton.
Maples, living in the Trump Parc condo building, reportedly invited Bolton to her room after Trump went on a trip to the West Coast.
Trump openly talked about it with Vanity Fair in 1994 after finding out about the situation. He admitted to leaving Maples but felt unhappy when she started a relationship with Bolton.
Trump said, "I left her. I left her like a dog," giving Maples the freedom to explore a relationship with Bolton.
However, Trump, being competitive, didn't like the idea of losing.
He said, "A guy like me, a competitive guy, it’s like an affirmation that the girl has to be great because the No. 1 singer has fallen for her."
As a result, Trump convinced Maples to come back, and they eventually got married in 1993.
The FBI documents came up during a legal case involving Maples' former publicist, Chuck Jones.
Jones not only took nude photos and shoes from his client but also revealed details about her alleged affair with Donald Trump's bodyguard, Spencer Wagner, in 1996.
