Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa reprimanded the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police and said its quality of investigation was the worst.
The CJP gave these remarks during the hearing of a bail application by the Supreme Court of a man accused of murdering two people. The court rejected his bail.
During the hearing, the Supreme Court expressed anger over the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police’s investigation, saying that two people were killed and three injured, but what did the police investigate?
“I heard a lot about reforms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police,” CJP Isa remarked. “It is said that there were reforms introduced in the department.”
He then asked where the reforms took place, as the police did not even record the statements of those injured in the case.
The court directed the trial court to decide the case without an adjournment.
A three-member bench headed by CJP Isa conducted the hearing in a case of murder of two people registered in Mardan against the suspect named Wakeel.
