Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah on Wednesday, while claiming that his party would secure more than 100 seats in the forthcoming general elections said that his party will win 40 out of 46 seats in South Punjab.
In an exclusive interview in Samaa TV program “Nadeem Malik Live”, he laid out an ambitious vision for the party’s electoral prospects, particularly in South Punjab, asserting that a significant victory in this region is on the horizon.
Expressing confidence in the upcoming general elections, Sanaullah highlighted the inclusion of several influential figures from South Punjab into the PML-N, signaling a bolstering of their electoral power. Notably, the recent announcements of Sami Gilani and Mubeen Ahmed joining the party have strengthened this narrative.
The former interior minister projected a substantial win of around 40 out of 46 seats in South Punjab, aiming to surpass the 34 seats secured by the party in the region during the 2013 elections. Underscoring the PML-N’s growing influence in the area, he hinted at Basit Bukhari’s potential candidacy as a representative of the party in the upcoming elections.
Launching a tirade against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, Sanaullah sharply criticized its handling of governance, particularly targeting Farah Gogi’s involvement and alleging unparalleled corruption. He accused the PTI of losing support and hinted at repercussions for Imran Khan’s confrontations with institutions, hinting that these issues would reflect in the upcoming elections.
Regarding statements made by Khawar Maneka, the PML-N leader said that if the things Manika said are true, then what kind of character is this man?
The former minister went on to say that Nawaz Sharif has good relations with the current establishment, adding that an atmosphere was created against us, sit-ins and long marches were conducted, whereas the judicial establishment was also mobilised against us, but now our path is not being blocked, and false cases are being dismissed.
Sanaullah further confidently proclaimed that securing more than 100 seats from Punjab would pave the way for the PML-N to form the federal government, echoing the historical significance of Punjab’s electoral dominance in shaping the country's leadership.
