The internet service has been suspended at all police stations in Faisalabad which has paralysed operations and impeded case registration. The suspension stems from the non-payment of bills.
Due to the internet outage, complainants seeking registration of cases met with frustration and delays.
The absence of online access has caused significant setbacks and left investigators unable to access crucial data and files.
The situation has drawn criticism from citizens and legal experts alike. One concerned citizen remarked, "Incidents are happening, people want to file reports, but they're not accepting them. They're fixated on building a model police station while they lack even basic facilities."
Advocate Ali Hasnain expressed his concern about the potential impact on criminal justice.
"The first step is registration," he stated. "From there, the case becomes weak, which benefits the accused and hinders their prosecution."
In this regard, a police department spokesperson said that they were facing issues due to shortage of funds.
