Friends actor Matthew Perry passed away due to the "acute effects" of ketamine, a potent sedative.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's report, released almost seven weeks after the 54-year-old actor was found unconscious in his home's hot tub, revealed that high levels of ketamine, typically associated with surgical anaesthesia, were present in his body.
Perry, who openly battled drug and alcohol abuse, also had coronary artery disease and traces of the opioid-addiction medicine buprenorphine in his system.
The autopsy ruled his death an accident, attributing it to a combination of ketamine's impact on heart rate and breathing, alongside drowning.
Although the exact method of ketamine intake remains unknown, the report noted trace amounts of the drug in his stomach, with no recent needle marks on his body.
