Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) supremo Maulana Fazlur Rehman lashed out at the United Nations Security Council and other human rights’ organisations on Sunday.
Addressing the public gathering in Mardan, Rehman said, “Where is the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to bring the culprits to justice?
“The United States and the rest of the West prioritise the politics of power, not democracy. Is the killing of innocent people not a criminal war? The human rights organisations are also remaining silent over the situation in Gaza,” Rehman said.
Highlighting the country’s situation, Rehman said, “Our country’s economy is at stake."Our independence is also at stake.”
He made it clear that the JUI-F does not believe in staging the politics of "violence."

JUI-F spokesperson Hafiz Hamdullah said on Friday that his party was ready for the general elections on February 8.
Expressing his thoughts, Hamdullah questioned: “What is the need for creating doubts in holding the elections? The decision regarding the elections had already been made.”
He took a jibe at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying, “The PTI has a negative role to play in this regard. The PTI wants to get some time ahead of the general elections. The PTI’s politics revolve around hypocrisy.”
“Maulana Fazlur Rehman wants the supremacy of the parliament even today. We are ready to uphold the constitution and democracy and lead the country towards political stability,” Hamdullah said.
