The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ruled that the results of the November 2022 MD Cadre entrance test will be deemed valid for two years, until November 2024.
The decision was handed down by Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb following a petition filed by an individual named Libarouf, who successfully passed the MD Cadre exam in November 2022.
The petitioner argued that, by the law at the time of passing the test, the result was valid for two years. The challenge was directed at the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC)'s public notice issued on July 14, 2023, which stated that individuals who passed MD Cadre in 2022 would not be eligible for admission in 2023.
The court, referencing the regulations established in 2021, asserted that the MD Cadre results from November 2022 held validity for two years. The court emphasized that this right could not be revoked by a subsequent administrative decision.
Furthermore, the court ordered that the expenses incurred by the petitioner in pursuing the case would be borne by the PMDC. The ruling ensures that the petitioner's MD Cadre result will remain valid from November 2022 to November 2024.
Khaleequr Rehman Saifi, an advocate for the petitioner, played a crucial role in presenting the case before the court, leading to this favorable decision.
The judgment provides clarity and upholds the rights of individuals who completed the MD Cadre entrance test in November 2022, securing the validity of their results for the specified two-year period.
