Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leaders Raza Haroon and Anees Advocate joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Friday.
The development came after both the leaders called on Asif Ali Zardari. On this occasion, the former president said, “Karachi belongs to the PPP. We are trying to restore the city’s glory. Those who wanted unrest and spread hate had harmed the city.”
“We want to see a surge in investment opportunities in Karachi from worldwide. We hope that Karachi will become the economic hub the way Dubai has developed.”

Zardari said, “The masses will get relief during the time of worst inflation. We will launch welfare projects in Karachi and other parts of the country.”

Few days back, PPP senior Murad Ali Shah said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif "took a lot of time” to return home.

Speaking to the media in Jamshoro, the former Sindh chief minister said: “There were many alliances formed against the PPP, but each of them failed. All the alliances against the PPP had been bludgeoned.”
He expressed optimism about “clinching victory” in the upcoming general elections. “The PPP will win the elections on February 8 by breaking all the records.”
Shah took a dig at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, saying, “The PTI founder had left the country on the verge of default. Sindh had also had to face injustices during his tenure.”
