A Japan Airlines aircraft with at least 367 passengers on board was on fire on a runway at Tokyo's Haneda airport on Tuesday after a possible collision with a Coast Guard aircraft, Nippon TV reported.
Live footage on public broadcaster NHK showed flames coming out of the windows of the Japan Airlines flight JL516, an Airbus A350 as it skidded down the tarmac and fire crews feverishly tried to extinguish the fire. The aircraft was on fire with rescue operations underway, as per initial reports.
The Coast Guard said it was investigating the possibility that one of its aircraft collided with the passenger jet.
