Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidates got massive relief from the Appellate Tribunals as several PTI contestants including the party’s vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi nomination papers were accepted to contest elections on February 8.
The majority of PTI candidates’ nomination papers were rejected by the returning officers and subsequently, they moved to Appellate Tribunals—set up by the respective provincial high courts including the Islamabad High Court.
On the Contrary, PTI Punjab President Former CM Punjab Pervaiz Elahi's nomination papers were rejected.
Several candidates' nomination papers were also rejected including PTI Punjab President Pervez Elahi (NA-59 and PP-23), PTI Alamgir Khan from NA-236, MQM Yasir ur Din (PS-109), and independent candidate Imran Ali from NA-236.
