The Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) bigwigs, Jahangir Khan Tareen and Abdul Aleem Khan, discussed on Saturday the possibility of seat adjustment with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
The IPP patron-in-chief and IPP president held a meeting in Lahore. On this occasion, matters in line with the country's political situation were underscored.
Both leaders had also discussed the matter in line with the party's election campaign. It had been decided that the IPP would launch the election campaign with verve following the finalisation of the candidates' names.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting were Awn Chaudhry, Nauman Langrial, and Syed Samsam Bukhari.
– SC uplifts supremacy of parliament: Firdous Ashiq Awan –
Last month, IPP spokesperson Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Wednesday that the Supreme Court (SC) had upheld the supremacy of the parliament in light of the Practice and Procedure Act's detailed verdict.
Expressing her thoughts, Firdous said, “The SC had strengthened the democracy with its ruling. The decision will have a long-lasting impact. The IPP welcomes the SC verdict.”
“The apex court’s verdict will have an exclusive and positive impact on the upcoming general elections,” Firdous stated.

She underlined the importance of uplifting democracy in the country, saying, “We can only lead the country towards prosperity if democratic principles are followed.”
