The tussle within the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) erupted over the ticket distribution for the forthcoming general elections.
The PPP's'sormer provincial minister, Mumtaz Jakhrani, had decided on Wednesday to lock horns with the PPP candidate in the upcoming elections.
Expressing his thoughts, Jakhrani said, “I have not parted ways with the PPP, but the party itself has separated me. The PPP had the policy of awarding tickets to the candidates who clinched victory in the 2018 general elections.’’

Earlier, it was reported that the PPP Central Executive Committee (CEC) endorsed former foriegn minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as the party's official candidate for the position of Prime Minister.
The decision was met with unanimous approval during the hybrid meeting held at Bilawal House, where key party members gathered to deliberate on key matters.
Chaired jointly by Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto, the meeting addressed pivotal issues such as the upcoming general elections, the party's election campaign, and the formulation of the party manifesto.
Meanwhile, the participants also engaged in comprehensive discussions regarding the current political landscape of the country and its diplomatic relationships.
