Renowned businessperson Chaudhry Abdul Rauf was appointed on Friday as Islamabad president of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP).
Rauf had decided to join the IPP. On this occasion, IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan welcomed Rauf and his confidants to the party. Aleem Khan had appointed him as Islamabad president of the party.
Expressing his thoughts, Aleem Khan expressed optimism that, under the leadership of Rauf, the IPP will become strong.
Meanwhile, Rauf said, ‘’The IPP will not only become the voice of Islamabad but of the entire country. We will spread the vision of Abdul Aleem Khan under the umbrella of the IPP.’’
Rauf said: ‘’The IPP will put in all-out efforts to put the country’s economy on the right track and create employment opportunities for the people’’.
– PML-N, IPP reach seat adjustment –
Earlier, it was reported that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and IPP reached seat adjustments ahead of the general elections.
The PML-N will not field its candidates from the three constituencies of Lahore. The PML-N had left NA-117, NA-128, and PP-149 vacant for the IPP.
IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan had submitted the nomination papers from NA-117 and PP-149.
IPP Additional Secretary Awn Chaudhry had submitted the nomination paper from NA-128.
Few days back, it was reported that the talks for seat adjustments between the IPP and the PML-N had progressed significantly.
