A nationwide crackdown against smuggling has been underway since September 2023, and it has proven successful in thwarting a significant smuggling operation involving Iranian oil.
According to official figures, a substantial quantity of Iranian oil, fertilizers, cigarettes, fabric, and sugar has been confiscated across the country during the period from 7th to 15th January.

As per the statistics, a total of around 11 metric tons of sugar, 550,000 cigarette stocks, and fabric from 595 locations were seized.
Additionally, a smuggling attempt involving approximately 12 million litres of Iranian oil was also foiled.
It is noteworthy that proactive measures have been taken at the government level to enhance the national economy and curb illegal trade.
