Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Musadik Malik said on Thursday that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was only allowed once in 24 years to contest the elections.
Speaking to media in Islamabad, the former petroleum minister said, “Nobody has ever asked the question of what kind of level playing field it is. All our key leaders had to face jail. Was that a level playing field?”
“We are not responsible if anybody faced injustice during the caretaker government’s regime,” he said.
Recalling the events that transpired on May 9, Malik said, “Those who were involved in the May 9 mayhem will have to bear the brunt.”
