Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi emphasised on Saturday that there is no rift between him and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif.
Speaking exclusively to Samaa TV, the former prime minister expressed disagreement with the current political stance of the party.
He recalled former prime minister Benazir Bhutto's invitation to join the PPP, saying, ‘’Benazir Bhutto had invited me to join the PPP. I told Benazir Bhutto that I would stand by Nawaz Sharif''.
Crediting Nawaz Sharif for constructing the motorway, Abbasi said, ‘’It was Nawaz Sharif’s idea to extend the speed of travel. At that time, it was hard to exceed the speed of 50 kilometres per hour. The biggest corridor of travel was Islamabad to Lahore’’
''Nawaz Sharif made the motorway swiftly and of top quality. The PML-N supremo had always cared a lot, as I was younger than him. Nawaz Sharif insisted on my joining Pakistan International Airlines (PIA),'' he maintained.
