Amid unverified news circulating on various social media platforms, there is speculation that educational institutions nationwide might face an 8-day closure next month, coinciding with the scheduled general elections on February 8.
Reports suggest that educational institutes could shut down on Sunday, February 4, for Kashmir Day on February 5, and are anticipated to remain closed during the election period from February 6 to 10.
The closure would extend to Sunday, February 11, with a planned reopening on February 12.
Notably, February is expected to include two public holidays, one on February 5 for Kashmir Day and another on February 8 for the general elections.
It's crucial to note that these reports are yet to be officially confirmed by relevant authorities.
Earlier indications suggested that educational institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) might observe closure from February 7 to 9 in light of the general elections.
While officials are said to have finalized this decision, the formal announcement is anticipated in the first week of February. Local authorities may also consider extending the holidays based on evolving circumstances.
