Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) President Abdul Aleem Khan said on Thursday that poverty is one of the biggest curses for the country.
Addressing the public gathering in Lahore, Aleem Khan praised PML-N candidate Ghazali Saleem Butt, saying, ''Ghazali Saleem Butt feels pain for the people of his constituency.'' He expressed his optimism about developing Shahdara the way areas like Gulberg and Defence had been developed.
He asked people to vote for his party and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to change the country's fate.
''We will serve the country by joining hands together. We will collect the tax from the rich segment of society and spend it for the betterment of the poor segment of society,'' he said.
Speaking about the petroleum prices, Aleem Khan said, ''The motorcyclists should be given the petrol on cheaper rates in comparison with the rich segment of society.''
He expressed his resolve of providing free electricity for up to 300 units.

Earlier on Wednesday, IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan expressed gratitude to PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif for providing the former with able team.
Addressing the public gathering in Lahore, Aleem Khan said, ‘’Ghazali Saleem Butt is a sincere and dedicated person. I and Ghazali Saleem Butt will together serve the community if voted into power.’’
He said, ‘’I have served one party for 10 years by putting in all-out efforts. However, when that person [PTI founder] became the prime minister, he put me behind bars in no time. He only had to make the Wasim Akram plus [Usman Buzdar] the country’s prime minister.’’
‘’A meeting was held after drugs were kept in the car of Rana Sanaullah. I had said that what happened with Rana Sanaullah was wrong. I had said that Rana Sanaullah will bear this injustice, but people in the surroundings cannot bear such a kind of injustice,'' Aleem Khan said.
