Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Nayyar Bukhari said on Friday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) government was ousted through a constitutional process.
Addressing the press conference in Rawalpindi, Bukhari said: ‘’PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhuuto-Zardari will address the public gathering in Liaquat Bagh on January 28. It will be the first public gathering in Liaquat Bagh after 2007.’’
‘’We hoped that our leadership would be given proper security during the public gathering,’’ he said.
Bukhari hoped that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) would hold elections in a constitutional way.
– Asif Zardari upbeat about emerging 'victorious' in upcoming elections on Feb 8 –
PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari expressed optimism on Thursday about emerging ''victorious'' in the upcoming general elections.
The former president held a meeting with a delegation of the Christian community in Lahore. Zardari and the delegation had discussed matters in connection with the election campaign in NA-127 on Thursday. On this occasion, Zardari claimed: ‘’Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s 10-point agenda will change the destiny of the country.’’
He vowed to safeguard the rights of minorities by enacting legislation in an ‘’effective’’ way if voted into power.
‘’Only the PPP will be seen fighting for the rights of minorities. The PPP and the Christian community in the country are having a strong connection,’’ Zardari said.
