Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Ahsan Iqbal on Wednesday lavished his praise on former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
Addressing the public gathering in Narowal, the former planning minister said, “Nawaz Sharif lives in our hearts. The campaign had been launched against Nawaz Sharif, and he was subjected to cases. But Nawaz Sharif remained in people’s hearts.”
"It was Nawaz Sharif who made Pakistan an atomic power. Nawaz Sharif had opened the gateway to opportunities through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC),’’ Iqbal stated.

He took a swipe at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, saying, “The PTI founder had been deemed a dacoit. In response, I said that if I have done anything wrong, then the higher power will hold me accountable.”
“However, the person [PTI founder] himself had turned out to be dacoit and now bearing the bearing of what he did,” Iqbal maintained.
He expressed optimism that Narowal will remain the PML-N’s stronghold. “Narowal was, is, and will remain the stronghold of the PML-N. We will also develop Zafarwal and Shakargarh,” Iqbal said.
– Economic crunch –
Few days back, Iqbal on Friday blamed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for the economic crunch.
Addressing the party workers from NA-76 in Narowal, the former planning minister said, ‘’The PTI is a party that has spread anarchy in the country.’’
He took a jibe at the PTI founder, saying, ‘’The PTI founder had run the country like an inept.’’
